We Need Jobs In The Sacramento Region – Looks Like More Could Be on The Way…?

Check out this report regarding large office space..!

When I’ve been approached by people curious about the Real Estate market in Folsom, El Dorado Hills and the rest of the Greater Sacramento Region and what they think the future is…. well,  the answer has always been…”depends on the job market”.

If you don’t have good paying jobs, you’re not going to have a flourishing market of homes, apartments and other types of Real Estate.   There’s a nice array of jobs along the “50 corridor” from El Dorado Hills, Folsom and Rancho Cordova… from Hi-tech start ups, Intel and the Rocket Ship factory over at Areojet.   We need more private sector jobs to keep the momentum growing.

While I know the market in Single Family homes and Apartments has been good of late, there’s some mixed news about Office space.   This does affect housing.

Take a look at this article I got from the Sacarmento Business Journal today.

Sacramento office market tight for big users

Let me know what you think.

Just a Quick Update – Some Area Real Estate News…

Check Out This Short Article…Shows How the Demand Has Changed

I thought I’d pass on this article from the Sacramento Business Journal that reports on a couple of projects.  One in Mid-Town Sacramento and one up on Lake Tahoe.

Both of these projects were impacted by the real estate crash and recession and were turned over to new owners because of foreclosure.

Luxury products in Tahoe, midtown selling well

We’re seeing more and more articles like this.

Here in Folsom, inventory is still down and homes selling fairly quickly.

If you are thinking of Buying a home or investment property or thinking of Selling…?  Looks it’s a great time to do it.

Buyer Optimism Is Up… Now Might Be A Good Time to Sell…?

More Interesting News From the California Association of Realtors.

I thought I’d pass this along to you folks.   I know the last couple of weeks in our office that sales have picked up some.

My take on this…. ?  I think it’s because the market had been down so long that people are beginning to realize they haven’t built much new inventory so “re-sale” homes are going to be more in demand.

What do you think…?

It’s the Fall Season – Now’s The Time to Improve The Landscaping..!

Trees In this Area Raise the Value of Your Home Or Investment – Some Helpful Links to help you pick the “right tree”…

Anyone who follows this blog site or is a current/past client of mine knows how I feel about the impact of  good landscaping on a Home or a Rental Investment Property.

Here’s a short slide show below that shows a “before” and “after” of a Duplex in Orangevale that we manage.

Today is Sept 29th and already you can feel the evening air is a little more crisp and mornings are kind of chilly.   I bet you have noticed in the last couple of days that the trees in the area are beginning to change their color.

What Kind of Tree

We are having a discussion right now in our company regarding landscaping improvements and a planting day for various properties we manage throughout the region.    Among the discussion was some suggestions of various kinds of trees.

I’m partial to deciduous trees because they are fast growing and give some great colors.

Here’s a great resource to help you find the right tree.  It’s the Sacramento Tree Foundation’s website.

Here’s a list of what they will tell you that I found informative.

  • The Scientific Name
  • Mature Height
  • Mature spread
  • Leaves
  • Fruit
  • Root system – where it has large surface roots
  • Where you can see a “specimen”
  • and… “minimum” planting distances from fences… pools… between trees etc.

I looked up Red Maple and took a drive out to Carmichael near the intersection of Oak Avenue and California Avenue to get a picture of it.  It is a big tree as you can see.  I didn’t have time to go to the other locations that show smaller specimens.

If you wanted to see what a mature tree looks like before you plant it, this is a great resource for you.

I hope this gives you some useful information.
