The New Johnny Cash Trail…? It’s coming to town…!

I thought I’d pass on this news.

If you drive frequently over the Folsom Lake Crossing you’re going to see construction start soon on the Bicycle/PedestrianJohnny Cash Trail bridge.

It’s kind of a neat looking bridge and will be part of the Folsom Trail system.

You can read more about it here

Sacramento Region, Including Folsom on the Home Building Rebound…?

Just Drive Around, You’ll See Evidence of a “come back”…

I’ve been a resident of Folsom since October of 1989, a previous “housing boom” year.   While it’s not like it was back then, there are signs that things are changing.

I thought I’d pass along some recent articles regarding the regional economy and how it relates to housing and business in general.

Here’s a recent article in the Sacramento Bee regarding the “pipeline” of proposed projects.   A lot of them were stopped when the

New D.R. Horton Community along Natomas

downturn in the market occurred.

Housing plans piling up: Which will get built? – Sacramento Bee

One of the projects that was placed on hold was the one being developed by D.R. Horton at the intersection of Natomas and Green Valley Road called,  THE KNOLLS that’s pictured here.

The Folsom Telegraph had an article recently about our local business climate I think you’ll find informative.

Folsom, El Dorado Hills region booming with new business, housing

While that all seems like good news, there’s some reservation as observed by the Sacramento Business Journal.

Home sales appear to be leveling off

Let me know what you think.

Anyway… it’s almost Spring time… the weather has been great and I think the smell of a rebound is in the air.  Time will tell.

The Sacramento Bee is talking about us.

I woke up today and was doing my usual morning reading online and came across this article in the Sacramento Bee.

Those of us that live here already know what a great place it is.

Rent Control – Back On The Radar Screen… Watch Out…!

I’m Just Passing this On….

If you don’t live in California and are reading this from out of state this is a hot button issue in areas like the San Francisco Bay Area and in some parts of Southern California.3d House (XXL)

If you want to see a list of those cities in this state that have rent control laws CLICK HERE.

Now if you are an Investor or even a current Home Owner thinking of renting your place out,  this issue should be a concern because it will affect you.

We just completed a “walk through” inspection of the Gaslight Apartments yesterday. Can you guess what the Bay Area investor asked me…?  “Are there rent control laws here in Folsom”.

He was relieved when I said no.   It was then he commented on how horrible it is in San Francisco and San Jose.

Take a look at this article written by Dan Walters of the Sacramento Bee in today’s paper and get ready to watch some shenanigans on this issue.

Dan Walters: Rent control returns to Capitol as burning issue
